How To Write Good Auto Response Letters

How to write auto response letters that sell really well?

The key is to have a clear objective from the beginning. Auto response letters are sent to those who have visited your site in the past and filled out a form to request more information about your products or services.

Autoresponse letters are a way to earn repeat business or to sell a new product. They should not be long and they should have a point that is easy to understand.Your message should only be one or two paragraphs in length and should mention your web site once or twice.

While many people use auto responders as a way to reach a huge number of people without having to send each person on their mailing list a personal message, you should keep in mind that automated messages do not sell products directly.

Depending on the size of your mailing list, your email may be read by thousands of people.The goal is to make your readers feel that you are writing to them personally. Write in a personal tone, include the {first_name} tag in every email so the recipient thinks that you are talking to them directly.

You must also be professional in every way.You are running a business and you are building your credibility with every message you send.Always include your full name, your company name, and your real postal address in the messages.(Often this comes automatically.)

Many marketers make the mistake of bombarding their list with offers every single day.This is a complete waste of time and many people will unsubscribe.Sending an email every 3 days gives your customers time to read the previous messages you sent them.

An effective auto responder letter should not sound like you are selling something, it should be quality information that your customers appreciate (articles, reviews, tips...).


What is the structure of a good auto response letter?

The subject line:

This is the most important step.You must get this step right in order to get the email opened.

The subject line should read something neutral but at the same time it must raise curiosity.A dramatic subject line works also really well.

Here are some examples of good subject lines:

You`ve got to see this ...
Here`s the answer you`ve been looking for
Urgent News
Check this out and let me know
Open this before 6 p.m.


The opening paragraph:

This is where you introduce your product.Tell the reader where they can find it by including the URL.


The second paragraph:

Describe the benefits and features of the product.You should also offer advice on how to use it.

Spam has become a big issue and many emails get caught in the spam filters, so there are some words you must avoid.
For example, instead of writing the word "free", write "no cost" instead and so on.

Write at least 10 auto response letters in advance.Usually you need to contact a customer 7 times before they take any action.Then, track the process to see what works and what does not.Tracking can be done from your account at the auto responder company.

If your message was effective, you will experience an increase in business a few hours after sending the message. Give it a few days to measure the success of your autoresponder.
